Goblet of Fire

Overview
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire starts off in the town of Little Hangleton. We see that Lord Voldemort is plotting to kill Harry at an abandoned home where the caretaker notices a lit fire in the window from his small garden house. When the caretaker is discovered investigating the source of the light from the hallway, Voldemort murders him and Harry wakes up in his bed hundreds of miles away with a pain in his scar, having just seen the entire scene in his dreams.
This is really the point when Jo starts to introduce us to much more complex plot lines. Details that are important to the intricate plots that are woven throughout the series are present as early as Philosopher’s Stone, but it’s here, in Goblet of Fire, that the reader starts to uncover some of the deeper (and darker) truths about Harry and the Wizarding World.
As Harry makes his way through the Tri-Wizard Tournament, helped along by friends and foes alike, the reader gets to see glimpses of the past, most notably the times immediately after the fall of Lord Voldemort, facilitated by Dumbledore’s pensieve. The book culminates with the rebirth of Voldemort himself and another triumph of good over evil and love over hatred as Harry escapes Voldemort’s wrath yet again.
