Jadelyn Riddle:
Well, my brother started reading the books when his friends recomended them. I thought that it would be just kid stuffs, and then Mum began reading them and finally I caved in. Remarkable, eh? I, the stubborn older sister bent and became the obsessive one, both in my household and amongst my friends. I also aided in the conversion of one of my adamant friends to the wonderful world of Harry Potter. That was fun- now he is an ‘editor’ to my writings!
Wünderbar!
Dana:
I met Harry Potter in the 6th grade when I started reading Prizoner of Azkaban. It was my friends and she had it lying on her floor so I just picked it up and started reading.I know I should have went in order but I love that one! I guess its cause it was my first one. I went back to read the others but I didn’t really like Chamber of Secrets. So now I have my own website seen all the movies like 2000 times and I have all kinds of stuff. So I guess I am an obsessed fan
Aneesah:
I think it was in year 2000, when I first heard about Harry Potter, in a newspaper, to be exact. I thought, well, probably just another thing kids these days go crazy about. But then my father borrowed his friend’s daughter’s HP book, and lent it to me, and guess what? I liked it! So a while later my father bought three of the HP books and gave it to me. And then I bought the 4th book (Goblet Of Fire) myself…So now I’ve read them about 6 or 7 times each, and I’m waiting for the 5th book (Order of The Phoenix)…I’m sure it will be so exciting.
Amanda:
I hated Harry potter up until a few years ago.
My friend, who was a huge fan, tried to persuade me to read them, even
pointing out parts in the books she thought I’d like. I wasn’t interested. my
English teacher then tried to read the book to us, but she read with such a
lack of enthusiasm and at such a slow pace that she made me like Harry potter less.
when my Mom heard about the 4th book coming out she wanted to buy it. i
could’ve cared less. when she was done reading it, i was bored one day and
picked it up. i paged through it, still doubting it’s entertainment, but when
the first chapter was over, i couldn’t believe my feelings! i hadn’t known
anything about HP except that it was a book, and that first chapter got me
wanting to read more. I read and read until I had finished the whole book,
and I loved it!
I couldn’t, and still can’t, thank my Mom enough. Not only for buying me all four books and all the memorabilia I have now, but for leaving her book on the kitchen counter for a doubtful person, whose now a GREAT fan, to find.
THANK YOU MOM!
The Webmaster (Written in 2002)
When I was about 11 or 12, we went on a vacation to Disney World in Florida. We decided to drive down so we could stop at some interesting places along the way and since we live in Ottawa, Canada it’s a pretty long drive and my mom wanted to find something to keep me occupied for the trip.
She had read a review of the first Harry Potter book (this was before they were so widely known) and decided to pick up a copy from our library for me. I wasn’t to interested in reading it at first and it wasn’t until the trip back home that I finally picked up the book and started reading it. As soon as I had read the first page I knew it was an awesome book and it only took me about five hours of the trip to read.
When we got home, I bought a copy for myself and my mom quickly bought me a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
As the next two came out, I always snapped them up quickly and read them ASAP! That was a few years ago but I still love those books and as you can see I now have my own website and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix!
